All of our COBOL programs have embedded sql. And we had relatively few problems converting the programs from Micro Focus to AcuCOBOL. They all run fine on our HP.

Now we are trying to use Thin Client but I can't get my test program to compile. It doesn't understand the exec sql lines for the Working Storage Declare Sections.

* DATA BASE ITEMS
EXEC SQL
BEGIN DECLARE SECTION
END-EXEC.
01 GR-SQL-CALL-KEY PIC X(11).
01 GR-SQL-CALL-TIME PIC X(8).
01 GR-SQL-CALL-OPERATOR PIC X(10).
01 GR-SQL-CALL-NAME PIC X(30).

EXEC SQL
END DECLARE SECTION
END-EXEC.

line 3: Illegal level number: EXEC
line 11: Illegal level number: EXEC

Does anyone have experience using Embedded sql in a Thin Client environment?

Thanks,
John C

Please check the compiler options that you are using, as the compiler messages that you are getting is due to the precompiler options not being used (-Ps etc.).

Thanks Shaun,

I'll give it a try.....I thought I'd try the Forum for this problem because you've helped me in every other problem to date! I didn't want to always bother customer service for everything....

Is there anything you don't know???
