Hello,

Ver. 7.2.0
Problem : sorting is indexed files!!

I've a strange feedback from one of the users like this:

the user has created different clients and in the family name there is a space.
ex. DE VOS
DE LZA

what happend is when this data is displayed on the screen or printed is coming like in the example above while from the user point of view it should come like this (because the L is preceeds the V ):

DE LZA
DE VOS

In other words the space which is between DE L and DE V is making a problem?
While the same data on other databases programs is coming as he wanted.

Any tips?

Thanks

It might be related to the input.
Assuming you are on windows, it is the ansi character set. With this, you do in addition to the traditional space H"20" also have a 'blank' at H"A0". While these appear equivalent, their sorting differs, naturally. I would suggest you check out the underlying ordinal value of the two characters. Do note that this stuff is highly locale dependent.

Hello Again,

Tried to remove any spaces from the field and put blank, and I do get the same result.

Thanks

That's odd. However, if you have a small reproducable example, send it to support.
