I just discovered an undocumented feature of Entry-Field graphical controls. I was beating my head against the runtime in the usual way trying to figure how how to manipulate selection-text/length properties to select a field's text.

If you set the action to 6, it executes the 'select all' action is available via mouse but not from the action codes mentioned in the docs or acugui.def.

so,
modify text-field action 6

selects the text in an entry field.
