Hi all,

We have a c$system call with CSYS-DESKTOP, CSYS-SHELL, CSYS-HIDDEN flags and returning an EXIT-STATUS.

With Windows 7, EXIT-STATUS works as expected, but not with Windows 10 (it returns a totally irrelevant value).

Cobol version is 8.1.0.

Is there any solution?

First of all Acucobol-GT V8.1.0 is not certified to run under Windows 10, have you tried running the same program with our latest V10.0.1?

Hi;

System calls (C$SYSTEM) do not work properly on Acu 8.x under Windows 10 (nor under Server2012).  The version 8 runtime doesn't wait for the system call to finish, and therefore the return code is undefined. While the first version of the runtime certified for Win10 is (I believe) 10.x, we've found that version 9.1.1 works fine for us (including system calls).
