A customer wants to migrate a large computer system developed in " ACUCOBOL v7 " to " GeneXus " , what are the arguments for NOT do ? .

#GeneXus

GeneXus is a development environment, that uses a knowledge base (programmed by this customer), which can generate a number of different code modules (C# and COBOL). Does GeneXus include a COBOL compiler as well? It is unlikely that the GeneXus would be able to translate existing ACUCOBOL-GT code, so it's possible that the original app would need to entered through the GeneXus interface .. that would be a very long process. Also, all existing file operations in the app would need to be converted to SQL, unless the GeneXus allows you to use an external COBOL compiler like Micro Focus or Acu extend.
