I am trying to to add the Transparent-Color property to Push Buttons in AcuCobol-GT, Version 10.   In the below screenshot, I would like the grey around the buttons to be transparent, allowing the blue to show through.    I’ve attached a couple of the bmp’s that are currently in use.  I’ve tried converting these to 16 color, 256 color and 24 bit bmp without success.         I’ve also tried several different values for TRANSPARENT-COLOR in the push button display, using working storage values as well as the integer itself.  78  WS-TRANSPARENT     VALUE x#c0c0c0.       |Windows Gray 192,192,192 <OR> 78  WS-TRANSPARENT     VALUE x#1000000.    |BM-CORNER-COLOR from ACUGUI.def, as mentioned in the Acucorp doc).  I've tried the following in Display Push-Button: TRANSPARENT-COLOR WS-TRANSPARENT <OR> TRANSPARENT-COLOR  1677

We are in the process of implementing the 10.5 thin-client runtime.  One of the difficulties is getting event data from a web page.  Currently, we use an ActiveX control linked to Internet Explorer, so C$GETEVENTDATA provides what we need.  We want to use WEB-BROWSER2 and get away from ActiveX.  How do I get event data using the new browser control?

Hello, i'm trying to overcome the acu threads limitations (for example starting c$socket server in an acu thread blocks the parent thread) by using the Windows threading API, by doing this: 1 - start a cobol program 2 - from this program call a c++ dll of mine that does an acu_initv() 3 - call again this dll and call a cobol program with acu_cobol() from a new thread created with CreateThread from the Windows API 4 - call again this dll and call another cobol program with acu_cobol from another new thread created Everything is fine up to point 3. But with point 4 I get memory corruption. If in 4 I call the same program of 3, doing a display upon console, then it does the display only once, but the memory doesn't get corrupted. My guess is that there is some kind of shared memory between the runtimes and I can't start more than 1 cobol program at time. Is there a way of achieving my goal or not? Thank you. Luca

START fails with error 23 (record not found) if using a key with alpha field bigger than 4 bytes. If a key has a PIC X(n) item with n > 4, a START, using that key would fail with an error 23 (Record not found). Hello everyone. I would like to let you know that if you would like to use dynamic arrays also in AcuCobol, there exists this open-source library on GitHub lucapiccinelli/array: COBOL implementation of dynamic array data structure (github.com). We have been using it (actually an older closed-source version) since 2011 and we are very happy with it. Please, let me know your thoughts about it.#AcuCobol#dynamicarray#ARRAY#datastructures

Using compiler version 10.5.0 HF 923229 and -Z71 to -Z103 compiler option causes runtime version 10.4.1 to fail on calls to W$BITMAP, W$MENU, etc. with error message: Invalid or Missing Parameter to W$(library name). The error does not occur when compiled with unpatched version of the 10.5.0 compiler nor compilers prior to 10.5.0.  Full article: https://portal.microfocus.com/s/article/KM000016604#SupportTips/KnowledgeDocs

I need to read Vision file from .NET core on Linux system. I see there are Vision APIs and I can use them. I have only a problem: If I open a file in read-only mode, all read are with the "no lock" clause (as told in the documentation) If I open a file in a read-write mode, I need to specify if I want the lock (default) of if I want the no-lock The documentation says: Records read from a file open for I/O are automatically locked unless the external variable f_no_lock is set to a non-zero value first But how can I set this variable if I don't find any call in the library to set it? Can you provide any C# example for set/unset it?#VisionAPI

AcuXDBC returns the error message "We cannot return the data producing this query because of its complexity" when opening a table using an ODBC connection in MS Excel. We have to connect a scale for cattle via a USB (defined COM3) with ACUCOBOL 10.1.5. The command and the answer are in the image. Somebody experience with this matter? Kind regards

Our company uses the xdbc to access the cobol data for several dozens of sites. We have one particular setup where we have an app server and a db server. Some of our data is in the sql server and some of it resides on the app server in cobol files. We use the sql linked server to access the cobol files with views that way we can do joins between the sql tables and cobol files. The issue that we are trying to solve is that we are trying to find a way to connect a linked server to the connection on the app server. I'm not sure if this can be done without using a second install of the xdbc on the sql server that points to the cobol files on the app server. We just use the local install now and I can't really figure out how to use the network version this way. Does anyone have ideas on how we could accomplish this?

Anyone know what a Return-code of 2 is when using C$SYSTEM?

We're trying to find a way to allow clients to drag and drop a file onto an AcuCobol screen control that will allow us to capture the path and then copy/move the file where we need it.  Is there such a capability, and if so could you provide an example?  Thanks.

Hi, I created a stored procedure in sql server, and trying to call it from AcuCOBOL but getting this error: Could not find stored procedure 'sp_test'    42000 It does exist in sql server, with all rights granted. Calling code looks like this: EXEC SQL   DECLARE CURSOR-SP CURSOR FOR     :ret-code = exec sp_test END-EXEC It's a bit confusing as 42000 means acuodbc driver expected, but I'm using the acusql driver, not ODBC#AcuCobol#SQLserver

Hi all, we have a program with a 30-columns grid, running it with 10.0.1 runtime, it is displayed as expected: When we run it with the latest 10.5.0 runtime, columns after 26 are displayed not having all the data, column lables are also missing, alignment is changed. the weirdest is that grid is displayed differently every time we run the program: Thank you
