Replacing trailing spaces with low-values or other characters

Problem:

You have an alphanumeric variable with trailing spaces and you want to change them to low-values or to another character.

Resolution:

Simply use the following syntax from the INSPECT verb:

INSPECT WS-ITEM REPLACING TRAILING SPACES 
BY LOW-VALUES.
