I am evaluating AcuToWeb. Our existing application is written in Acucobol 5.2. We do not use AcuBench. I am attempting to run the application using AcuToWeb. The program loads in the browser. However the screen layouts and fonts are not displayed correctly. Also, the menu does not work. We use C$Run to call programs from the menu. The menu loads, but the programs are not being called. If I try to call a programs from the menu, the menu closes without an error. Do I need to make any changes to use AcuToWeb ? Thanks in advance.

Just wondering why the default condition value does not change even when I assign it to true in the working storage section. class-id Validator. working-storage section. 01 #Title string value "Entry Error" static. 01 validData condition-value value true. I have also tried 01 ValidData type System.Boolean value true. I am trying to set this value to true when I validate my user textbox entries and only then, when the data is invalid set it to false.
Is there another way of returning a value back to the calling method other than using the set statement. For example method-id GetUserTypes() returning #list as type List[type TO_Queue] public local-storage section. 01 userType type List[type TO_Queue] value new Type List[type TO_Queue]. perform using conn as type MySqlConnection = new MySqlConnection(type DALUtility::GetSQLConnection("conn")) invoke conn::Open() perform using cmd as type MySqlCommand = new MySqlCommand("UserRights", conn) set cmd::CommandType to type CommandType::StoredProcedure &
Hi there, I am having a problem printing symbols (windows font wingdings 2 - character set 3) for check boxes and radio buttons. The symbol prints fine but then nothing else on the page prints. We only experience the problem when printing from a machine running Windows 10, 7 & 8 work fine. The other thing is that if I display a message box after setting the font as above, before writing the symbol away to the print file and setting the font back, then it works. Has anyone else experienced this? What can I do to fix it? Thanks in advance. NM#AcuCobol#Windows10#WINPRINT#-PSpooler
Hi, When deploy a Cobol Web Service with variable array (OCCURS DEPENDING ON), work fine on Windows 7 but i can't deploy on Suse 11; and i need it on Suse for production. The computer is the same and the difference is when validate the web service. The computer installed with Windows 7 Professional SP1 and running Visual Cobol 2.2 with Eclipse show this: The Console view show "The service mapping is valid". The same computer running VmWare 12 and installed with Suse 11 SP2 running Visual Cobol 2.2 with Eclipse show this: The Console view show "The service field does not have enough subscripts". The version of IMTK in both cases is 6.0.00. Is possible, with Visual Cobol 2.2, create a web service with variable array on Linux? Thanks in advance, Enrique.
We have one client location that is having infrequent File Error 93 issues. The error has happened with two different files. Both are Vision files. They are running a small network of Windows 10 and Windows 7 computers. The files are hosted on a Windows 10 computer. They are using the extend 9.2.2 ECN-4266 runtime. The errors occur when they get busy/active. However, it doesn't always happen when they are busy. I've included the SELECT and FD for both files. One has a variable length record. The other is "normal". They are opening, reading from, writing to, and closing other files (Vision, binary, and line sequential) on the same network drive share. ********************************** SELECT PAX-SIG-FL ASSIGN TO RANDOM "PAXSIGFL" WITH COMPRESSION ORGANIZATION IS INDEXED ACCESS MODE IS DYNAMIC RECORD KEY IS PAX-SIG-KEY. I'am right that you can not mixed 32 bit and 64 bit? Situation: Windows10 PC with 64bit, Office version 32bit. Running the 32bit Extend runtime 10.0.1 and sending mail with * C:\\OutlookTest\\Copylib\\outlook-2016.def - ActiveX control definitions * This is a 32-bit control * Generated by axdefgen version 10.0.0 * Generated: Thursday, November 19, 2015 * Typelib..: C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Office\\Root\\Office16\\MSOUTL.OLB OBJECT @Outlook Is running well. On the same PC, running with 64bit Extend runtime and sending mail with * C:\\OutlookTest\\Copylib\\outlook-2016.def - ActiveX control definitions * This is a 32-bit control &nb
How would you write this in .net Cobol as an object initializer. SqlParameter[] parameters = { new SqlParameter("@first_name", SqlDbType.VarChar, 50) { Value = to.FirstName }, new SqlParameter("@last_name", SqlDbType.VarChar, 50) { Value = to.LastName }, new SqlParameter("@middle_name", SqlDbType.VarChar, 50) { Value = to.MiddleName }, new SqlParameter("@empid", SqlDbType.Int) { Value = to.EmpId } };I have so farmethod-id LogUserInfo(tro as type TO_Queue) public.local-storage section.01 parms type MySqlParameter occurs any.set parms = new MySqlParameter("@username", tro::UserName)Where do i take it from here to declare an object initializer?
Using Thin Client I want to get the Windows users name and computer name from the client side, I am getting the user name and computer name from the server, I know I can get information using dll's such as Kernel GDI32 this particular dll is ADVAPI32.DLL and then I am calling GetUserNameA, GetComputerNameA this works just file if the connection is a mapped drive to the server. I used one of the sample programs GETUSERNAMEANDOS.cbl to get the logic and into one of our standard programs. I have been able to get the other information from the kernel.dll in thin client but not the ADVAPI32.DLL, any ideas?
Hello Everyone; We are a software developing company. Our client has a main application which runs on linux and developed with acucobol using vision database. They have acuxdbc installed. We would like to introduce "replication" process to our databases built in MSSQL version of 2008 R2. We use ACU4GL to handle our I/O operation. Our ACUCOBOL run time varies but minimum 9.2.0 ECN-GL524. The first step of the replication implementation is to add “Globally Unique Identifier – GUID” to each table. GUID column has its own datatype and cannot be changed to another datatype. These GUID columns are not referenced by COBOL (ie. FDs don’t have them hence XFDs don’t have them either). We expect that COBOL/ACU4GL will disregard them like A4GLIDENITY column. However, we get an error “unknown datatype for column xx: GUID (-11)” and program abends with 9D, 23 (where xx is the column number of GUID column added). I was wondering anyone in Micro Focus community had similar issue with GUID datatype and how you have overcome this issue? #Acu4GL
Has anyone created a method of calling SSRS RDL from within AcuCobol?
How can i detect within a cobol program on a Windows PC if there is running a 32bit outlook/excel/word or a 64bit version is running? If it is possible a solution in cobol. Thanks in advance.#extend
Environment: Windows 10, VS15, VC2.3, MySQL5.7 Hi all, After a bit of experimenting there seems to be a 128 byte limit on the sql code for each item 'selected' - is that right? Can it be increased? e.g. this simple example works and returns SQLCODE zero. 01 my-host-field pic x(500). Procedure division.exec sql select blah1, concat('xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx', 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx', 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx'), blah3 into :blah1, :my-host-field, :blah3 from my-table limit 1end-exec. HOWEVER if I add one more 'x' or indeed if I use any select column code > 128 characters e.g. a long case statement, sub-query etc, it still works but I get SQLCODE=1, "[MySQL][ODBC 5.3(w) Driver][mysqld-5.7.12-log]Stri
How would you write the student.Add(new Student() {....} in .net cobol. My attempt is invoke student::Add(new Student() (new Student::ID This is as far as I got before syntax errors. SqlDataReader dr; try { conn.Open(); dr = cmd.ExecuteReader(); while (dr.Read()) { student.Add(new Student() { ID = dr.GetInt32(dr.GetOrdinal("ID")), Name = dr.GetString(dr.GetOrdinal("Name")), DateOfBirth = dr.GetDateTime(dr.GetOrdinal("DateOfBirth")) }); } dr.Close(); }
Hi there, Is there an MF dialog GUI method to refresh an object only i.e. not set focus on it? For example to enable an object i just do this. Is there a refresh equivalent method? CALL 'GUI-enable' using my-dialog-object-handle. GUI.cbl --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- $set mfoo class-control. AbstractWindow is class "awindow". working-storage section. 01 obj object reference value null. linkage section. 01 hand pic x(4) comp-5. procedure division. entry 'GUI-enable' using hand. *> enable object from handle... invoke abstractWindow "fromHandle" using hand returning obj. invoke obj "enable". invoke obj "destroyproxy" returning obj. goback. Many thanks, Linden
Is it possible for the scroll bar in a list-box to make it wider to make it visible on a tablet / phone?
How would one convert this linq/lambda expression to .net cobol return Enumerable.Range(0, reader.FieldCount) .ToDictionary( i => reader.GetName(i), i => reader.GetValue(i));What I have so far is invoke type Enumerable::Range(0, reader::FieldCount)::ToDictionary(I do not know how to covert the lambda expressions to .net cobol or is it possible?.
Is there a way to produce COBOL program statistics report. Similar to the method Mainframe express used to do it. I need the lines of code for the programs. We are starting a process of source cleanup, removing dead statements and unused data. Need to be able to show a before and after report.
I'm using Visual COBOL in Visual Studio 2015 and I'm having trouble doing a simple CALL statement. In NetExpress the called program .CBL had to be in the same directory and it always worked. Not sure where to put the called .CBL program in Visual COBOL. This is a very simple program to show students how to retrieve the date in various formats using a CALL statement instead of hard coding the code. I've tried to place it in various different folders but get the following error: 173 Called program file not found in drive/directory [DATE-TIME] I've even created a folder called [DATE-TIME] and placed the code inside of this folder but I get the same result. Here is the code IDENTIFICATION DIVISION. PROGRAM-ID. DATE-TIME-EXAMPLE. * ****************************************************************** * * This is an example of a program that "calls" another program * (in this case the DATE-TIME program). * ******
Has anyone tried running Visual Cobol in Visual Studio 2017 yet?I know VS 2107 isn't officially out yet, but it sounds like it will be released soon.#VisualStudio
