| Cause | Missing IT_CodeSet_Registry plugin configuration in Orbix5 |
| Resolution | Orbix5 does not use IT_CodeSet_Registry plugin by default, so it does not configure this plugin by default for generated configuration However, Orbix 6 uses this plugin. So, configuring a new Orbix 6 domain to talk to any Orbix5 service or server fails with the following: (IT_CORE:200) W - Could not resolve initial reference for IT_CodeSet_Registry: not registered or configured The solution is to add the IT_CodeSet_Registry plugin to the Orbix5 domain. This will not affect Orbix5 to Orbix5 communication. Only Orbix6 client will use it. The nessary configuration can be added to the Orbix5 domain, using the following "itadmin" commands: itadmin variable create -type string -value codeset initial_references:IT_CodeSet_Registry:plugin itadmin variable create -type string -value it_codeset plugins:codeset:shlib_name itadmin variable create -type string -value atli2_ip initial_references:IT_IPTransport:plugin itadmin variable create -type string -value it_atli2_ip plugins:atli2_ip:shlib_name . |
