Orbix 3 provides a number of utilities to manage Naming Service entries. For example, the "rmit" utility can be used to delete individual entries.

However, it may be necessary to delete all entries in the Naming Service. Using "rmit" on each could be a slow process.

This article described an alternative means to delete all entries from the Orbix 3 Naming Service.

- Stop the Naming Service process

- Ensure no applications are attempting to contact the Naming Service, as this may relaunch it

- Delete all contents of the directory:

<Orbix Home>/config/Repositories/NamesRep/

- Relaunch the Naming Service
