Question: Does Borland provide any support for Delphi or does it have any such plans in near future?

Answer: No, we do not have any plans to support Delphi in VisiBroker 7 or future Visibroker releases. Now Delphi is a product under CodeGear.

Question: What is the latest version of Delphi that is compatible with Visibroker 7.0?

Answer: Regarding Delphi .NET language support in Visibroker .NET, Borland did not certify any of the latest VisiBroker versions to use with any of the Delphi versions.

Currently Codegear do not support VisiBroker 7.x in Delphi 2007. Codegear certified Janeva (VisiBroker for .NET 6.x) with Delphi 8 for the Microsoft .NET Framework to facilitate Delphi developers with access to all features of the CORBA 2.4 standard, like Portable Object Adapters (POA) or Quality of Service (QoS), to name just two. Question: What are the possibilities to upgrade an application running on Visibroker for Delphi?

Answer: There are two possibilities:

a. If you are using an earlier version of Visibroker with a Pascal interface such as Visibroker for Delphi 3.4.2, it may not be possible for you to switch. It depends on how integrated your application is to Pascal. Since Pascal is not available anymore and Janeva/Visibroker for .NET is a different product from Visibroker for Pascal, it is not supported.

b. However, if your application is using Janeva and you want to move to Visibroker for .NET 7.0 or later, you can approach Codegear for the certification of Visibroker for .NET to work with latest Delphi versions.
