Question/Problem Description

The Orbix 3.3 binaries (orbix daemon, IDL compiler, etc.) are licensed at installation time with the license code received when the product was purchased. The license code is not stored in a readable format in the product directory.

Resolution

Please follow the steps below in order to get access to the license code:

1. Make a copy of the orbixd executable and append the hostname to this.
   
   On Windows:
   copy %ORBIX_ROOT%\\bin\\orbixd.exe %ORBIX_ROOT%\\bin\\orbixd.exe.%COMPUTERNAME%
   
   On UNIX:
   cp $ORBIX_ROOT/bin/orbixd $ORBIX_ROOT/bin/orbixd.$HOSTNAME
   
   
   
2. Open a support incident with Micro Focus SupportLine and attach the copy above to the support incident
   
   
3. The Micro Focus team will extract the license code from the executable and provide it to you via the support incident.
