How to view the instrumentation values for a remote Notification Service?

Solution:

You can use the html adapter to view the instrumentation of a service on a different machine.as long as it has been started. If it wasn't, then the service will need to be stopped, the adaptor options set, and the service restarted.

The steps are as follows:

1. Bring up the OpenFusion Administration Manager on the remote machine.
2. Click to expand the Notification Service and go to the Notification Singleton.
3. Go to the Messaging Tag.
4. There is an option called: "JMX Instrumentation: Start Sun HTML Adapter". Tick this box.
5. Check that the option called: "JMX Instrumentation: Port for Sun HTML Adapter" contains a port that you can use.
6. Save the settings and start the service.

You should now be able to use the web browser to view the instrumentation values by entering

http://server:port
