The Xtradyne IIOP Domain Boundary Controller (I-DBC) product provides a complete out-of-the-box solution for all problems related to the operation of Corba or other IIOP (e.g., Java-RMI/IIOP or EJB) based applications across existing Network Address Translation (NAT) devices. It transparently translates the addresses carried in the IIOP traffic, thus enabling IIOP across NAT.

The product is a hardened security gateway software (typically installed on the internal side of the NAT device on an extra host in front of the CORBA or EJB server(s)) and can be integrated without any modification of your application system necessary. It also serves the other well-known IIOP/Firewall problems (such as dynamic port allocation in CORBA) and enables server-side SSL support without the necessity to modify the application servers and detailed and fine-grained AAA.

The product is a field-proven high-availability solution with large installations (> 40 I-DBC instances) running in critical high-security and high-availability environments, such as financial institutions and mobile telecom operators.

The product works with all NAT products/solutions as well as all CORBA and IIOP products, incl. JacORB, TAO, e*ORB, Orbix, Visibroker, WebSphere, WebLogic.
