Resolution:
With Windows Vista the User Acount Control UAC was introduced. It aims to protect the system from unwanted modifications by requesting additional user confirmation. UAC conflicts with the VisiBroker installation software, and blocks the start of the installation. Also the expected confirmation dialog of UAC is not shown.
To overcome the problem, UAC needs to be disabled before starting the installation of VisiBroker. After the installation is finished, UAC can be activated again.
Windows Vista:
- Open the Control Panel
- Type in “UAC” into the search box
- Click on the link “Turn User Account Controll ( UAC) on or off”
- On the next screen, uncheck the box for “Use User Account Control (UAC) , and then click the OK button
- You will need to reboot your computer before the changes take effect
Windows 7:
- Type in “UAC” into the search box of the Start Menu
- Click on the link “Change User Account Control settings”
- On the next screen, drag the slider all the way down to “Never notify”, and then click the OK button
- You will need to reboot your computer before the changes take effect
