Clarifying Information Error Message Defect/Enhancement Number Cause Resolution Generally speaking, a persistent storage mechanism used with databases must either really commit changes to stable media before reporting back to the application that the change has been written, or if it does any form of write caching, it must be prepared to deal with any possible failure that may prevent cached writes from reaching stable media.
