VBC 5.x does not support Standard C libraries in for AIX platform, is there any plans to support it?
Resolution:
On AIX platform, VisiBroker for C versions 6.5, 7.0 and 8.0 Supports both Classical and standard C I/O stream libraries. Earlier versions of VBC (4.x, 5.x and 6.0) only support Classical C .
When developing standard C applications, please use the compilation switch _VIS_STD. This switch should not be set for classical C application development.
A suffix of "_p" denotes Standard C version and without this suffix is the classical C version. For example liborb_r.a.6.5 is the classical C version of the ORB and liborb_pr.a.6.5 is the standard C version of the ORB.
However, the VBC 8.5 release only supports Standard C I/O stream libraries.
Customer is advised to consult Micro Focus Customer Care if they need Classical C support.
