Does VisiBroker support the Custom Stream Format version 2? The Custom Stream Format is detailed in OMG Issue #3151 (Stream format problem for custom marshalled RMI types) of the Java To IDL Revision task force.
Resolution:
The change in question was introduced into Java to IDL spec in version 1.2. Additional changes were also necessary in the GIOP specification and are due to be included in CORBA 3.1 (although the new tags appear in the appendix to CORBA 3.0).
VisiBroker 6.0 is conformant with CORBA 2.6 per the platform information. The product support GIOP 1.2 with the default custom stream format which is the version 1.
At this point there are no specific plans to add the version 2 functionality to the VisiBroker.
