VBE 6.5: License error when failing over to backup server.

VBE 6.5: License error when failing over to backup server.

When a backup/fail-over server exists for a VisiBroker installation on one server, then when the VisiBroker is failed over from the first machine to the backup server, get the following error message.

Unable to locate or read license [Borland Enterprise Server License error[1005]: License setting is not valid, can not find license in your installation. Please obtain a valid license and/or configure appropriately.]

Resolution:

This error is seen since the license has been registered with the first server and it does not recognize the license on the failover/backup server.

In such a scenario, VisiBroker needs to be installed on the fail-over/backup server, and the license needs to be registered on that machine with a separate license key. When the fail-over happens from the first server to the backup server, then the license that the fail-over/backup server picks up will be the license that was registered on the same machine and hence, will not throw the error.
