Cause The POA based CORBA ORB has been rebranded a number of times.
Resolution The original POA based ORB release was Orbix 2000 and the versions of this were Orbix 2000 1.x and 2.x. When this was combined this with a J2EE Application Server (previously iPortal Application Server) it was rebranded as Orbix ASP (Application Server Platform) E2A (End 2 Anywhere) and the versions were 5.x. When the J2EE App Server was dropped for the 6.x release the core CORBA product was rebranded as Orbix for all 6.x versions. The latest release of this at the time of writing is Orbix 6.3.7.
Workaround
Notes There is also a BOA based CORBA ORB. The latest version of this is Orbix 3.3. The predecessors to this version were OrbixWeb 3.x (a Java based BOA ORB) and Orbix 2.3 (the C BOA based ORB). When these were combined the product was rebranded as Orbix 3.3.
