Is there a Telnet setting in Microsoft’s standard Telnet program that will recognize the column and row positioning from a D3 basic program, along with clear screen “PRINT @(-1)” etc.

It all works with ACCUTERM emulating a Viewpoint terminal, but I have not been able to find a setting that works with Microsoft’s Telnet.  Is address locations possible in standard Telnet?

MS Telnet is very basic. I would think that you would be better off using a different client. AccuTerm you have mentioned and that offers many features not found in other Telnet clients; puTTY is a good basic client.

However, the basic issue is making sure that your D3 environment is using a terminal definition that matches the telnet client. The MS documentation here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/windows-commands/telnet says that the client can emulate a VT100 terminal.

So - start the client with the /t vt100 switch and then once into the D3 environment, use the TERM command to set D3 to using the VT100 emulation.

Brian,

Thanks for the help.  The VT 100 emulation works properly to address column and row printing from a BASIC program.
