Hi all,
Hopefully you will excuse the question. I should know the answer but........
We have a backup vendor that is triggering errors on our linux d3 volume. Error is cannot index. Speaking with them they would like to know how the volume is formatted? If for no other reason than placing in an exception list so the error will not be triggered. The company is Rubrik just for information.
I told them it was the blob and they didn't think is was funny :)
Thanks for any help

When creating a raw partition like that, we very often assign it a partition type of "d3" which is a technically a hex type code but one that doesn't exist so it displays as "unknown" partition type. We obviously use "d3" because it sticks out like a sore thumb. Please do this and reply with the results:
fdisk -l /dev/sdb
Thanks.

Then I'd tell them it's a proprietary format that they would damage if they try to do anything with it. They have the power to exclude. Make them use that power. While you're at it, tell them to stay away from /usr/lib/pick as well.
