Hi all.

From dowload page:

D3 Windows 10.4.0 is certified on Windows 10 and 11, Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022

From D3 Windows Installation Guide pdf, page 9:

D3 Windows 10.4 is certified for use in these environments
▪ As a server over Windows 10 Pro and 11 Pro, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019 and 2022.
▪ As a client over Windows 10 Pro and 11 Pro, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019 and 2022.

Is D3 10.4 certified on Windows Server 2012 R2?

Thank You very much.

Stefano

Hi Stefano,

The only people who would know FOR SURE; is Rocket. So I suggest placing a formal request via your contact channels.

However; that said - I think it likely is it a documentation mistake in the installation guide and go by the download page.

Finally, why oh why, would you want to use a 12 year old environment anyway? So isn't the answer to the question moot?

If your customer has 2012 and will not upgrade to one of THREE later Windows releases; then that speaks volumes.

Harsh? I hope not.

Best wishes,

Hi David,

thank You to have spent your time in answering to a so silly question.

I agree with You that  D3 10.4 is not certified/supported on Windows 2012, it makes sense.

Anyway  I never said to want use D3 10.4 on that platform, I just pointed out to some discordances in documentation.

Now I wish let everybody know that in "D3 Windows Release N otes 10.4.0" pdf file, page 4 :

  • Platforms
The following platforms are no longer supported or certified for D3 10.4:
    ▪ Windows 7
    ▪ Windows 8
    ▪ Windows XP
    ▪ Vista
    ▪ Windows 2003
    ▪ Windows 2008 Server
    ▪ Any 32–bit version of Windows

Umhhh... if 2012 is not  "no longer supported or certified" it is !!

Best Regards.

Oops.

I doubt that it's certified on Windows 2012. Either way, it's a doc issue that needs to be addressed. I'll figure it out and make the appropriate change recommendations.

Thanks for finding this!!

I can confirm that 10.4 is certified over Windows 2012 R2 server, but since 2012 is EOL, we will probably not update the PAM and Download areas.
