Hi All,

 This is embarrassing (but not)

Please help me here, I need to mount (such that tI may issue a t-select verb in D3) a new tape which is NOT included in the Pick0 file.I know this is doable but I forget the TCL command that does this.

I'm on D3 Linux (Redhat) V 10.3 x

BTW - I've Googled "Rocket D3 Linux mounting a new tape device" but I really haven't seen a proper answer.

As I said - I've seen this before but I have a brain freeze right now :(

Stefano

chg-device 0 name=/tmp/tapename type=floppy density=pseudo

That will change the current device on device 0. For compressed, type=compressed, volsz=1000000 or similar

I think we implemented dev-make on D3 Linux, but not sure. I'll check.

check out chg-device and dev-make in the reference manual:

Checked, dev-make not implemented until 10.4 Linux. Best practice, add a bunch of scratch tape devices to the pick0 file so you have room to chg-device without stepping on something else. Also, note that chg-device is temporary, changes lost at reboot.
