NOTEPAD and D3

How can you call up NOTEPAD from within D3 on a Windows 11 machine?

I tried…

EXECUTE “!NOTEPAD”

The program seems to try to shell out, but it doesn’t call up notepad.

I’m coming from mvBase and have shelled out to NOTEPAD from there extensively.

Hi Roger,

 

   Well done for keeping one of the best MVs alive. mvBase is brilliant! MvBase shows the world what mv is all about simply, easily, and cleanly.

From memory, NOTEPAD always has been a trifle little awkward Windows application. Try EXECUTE “!notepad.exe” with a few options, and various alternatives. The key is to discover what win11 calls, and use that.

 

Carry on exploring MvBase and windows. Great fun is on its way. :-) hopefully, the DEMO account can help you as well, supplied with MvBase as a freebie. Lots of windows connection examples in there.
