i have another question, this time as per subject line i'm trying to set up the d3telnet turnkey stuff, on almalinux 9.4 where xinetd is not available.
the admin.pdf talks about using xinetd and doesn't mention any other possibilities. i've searched the forum for 'xinetd' & 'turnkey' & found this post: D3 and mvBase which included a clue re. setting up a d323@.service so i tried to copy that manually then started it with systemctl.
it failed though, and some digging revealed that the /usr/bin/d3net/d3_tel command doesn't accept either -w or -p arguments. i poked at it a bit and got the following:
Usage: mve_tel [-debug4 | -debug6] [-h] [-n] [-N] [port]
but i haven't been able to find where any of those options are defined, and at this point i'm not sure i'm even following the right lead.
i've checked all the PDFs that came in the d3 10.3.4 download, and like i said i've searched on here, but i haven't managed to find what i'm looking for.
is there a published guide somewhere that explains how to properly set up d3 with turnkey telnet ports on a post-xinetd OS?
thanks in advance!
