I am still learning about the Joys of Aldon.  I think I finally see some of the benefits for the library groups.  I did not at the beginning of the current project.  I have some files assigned to 1/1 instead of 1/7.  I do not see a way to correct this.  What am I missing? Do I really need to check out the object and delete it from the task so I can add the objects back to the task with the correct values?------------------------------David TaylorSenior DeveloperRange Resources CorporationFort Worth TX US------------------------------

I added an existing file to a task and promoted it to our testing environment.  The process correctly recompiled all the related objects.  Now, we have decided not to change the file.  What is the best course of action?------------------------------David TaylorSenior DeveloperRange Resources CorporationFort Worth TX US------------------------------

I am trying to find some step by step on using *QRYDFN.  Like most non-source objects, I have not done this enough to know.  I need to create a QUERY I can call from a program what will pass a value to limit the query.  Yes, I could write a program to do this, but for the effort involved, I would rather learn how to do the query.  I have other tools I can use from a 3rd party we have and will likely always have, but I prefer to use the IBM i tools when I can.------------------------------David TaylorSenior DeveloperRange Resources CorporationFort Worth TX US------------------------------

You made a beautiful web interface on your legacy application that does everything your users requested, but now they're reporting slow performance on a part of your application. Or everywhere. Is it because there is much host information to collect? Is there perhaps something not quite right in script? Or in the communication layers? Small delays can occur everywhere and they might add up to give a slow experience.  Tracing issues to their source can be harder than the resolution itself.  Rocket Modern Experience comes with a profiling tool that records your session's internals, giving you complete visibility to what your users can't see. Configure this feature with just a few clicks and perform the steps to reproduce the issue, and this tool will show you exactly what is happening, where and when, and how long each step takes. This short video shows you how to get started.#Performance, #Profiling, #RocketModernExperienceWebedition, #MXWeb #LegaSuite ----------------

I will not bother pasting code because that does not seem to be the issue.  I have SQL in an internal PROC to grab details about a vendor record.  When I run the code in the program, it codes not find the values SQLSTATE 02000.  When I run the SQL from the command line while in debug for the same session (read:library list), the SQL works.  Go figure!!! Have you all seen anything like this?  Sigh.  I do not have enough hair let for "pulling my hair out" problems like this.------------------------------David TaylorSenior DeveloperRange Resources CorporationFort Worth TX US------------------------------

Is it possible to insert my own html into the legasuite page for the web?I see on index.html there's this code<body onload="startClient()"></body>When I insert my own html page, it goes behind the client. is that the expected normal behavior?ThanksPeter------------------------------Peter ChengSoftware EngineerAmber Road IncParsippany NJ US------------------------------

I have been asked if there is any direct inmpact for the LMi tools we use on the IBM i for the CVE-2021-44228 event.------------------------------David TaylorSenior DeveloperRange Resources CorporationFort Worth TX US------------------------------

Scenario: I am testing an application on our target system. I have a very large log file (about 2.5TB) that has deleted members and new members added every day, and this file is refreshed daily. I want to omit the data in this file as it's not important for my testing  but the programs I'm testing with must have the members and the number of members correct. So, I want the PF and its members without data on the target system to start my application testing, how can I achieve this?   Response: Use the iCluster Select Object command DMSELOBJ,  select the group (where the PF will be  included), add the object name, object type would be *FILE and object extended attribute would be PFDTA. Finally, ensure the value for Mirror contents (MIRRCNTS) is set to *NO.   F1 - Help Text information for MIRRCNTS Indicates whether or not the contents of the object are mirrored. This parameter allows you to mirror object-level operations such as CREATE, DELETE, RENAME, and MOVE, but not the contents of

I wish the report would tell me more about what this means when I attempt to promote a set of objects.  I looked for CM1751 in the knowledge base as well. What did I do wrong and where should I have found the answer.  The object is a new object and does not exist anywhere on the system. CMS1751 30 Object XXXX type *MODULE in library AAAA not promoted because of time stamps mismatch.------------------------------David TaylorSenior DeveloperRange Resources CorporationFort Worth TX US------------------------------

Here are the details: I created the object on my task as an SQL Function as PSEUDO source as required. UTLGUIDD *FUNCTN SQL HZN/BAS D DEVDTAYL.  The source member name is not the same as the UDF name and that was defined.  See Function Name below. I can compile the source with RUNSQLSTM from a command line.  When I attempt to compile within the system, I get an error on the report. I looked in the job log for the error, but there is a lot to sort out.  What am I missing? TIA.  ASQFUNCTN FUNCTION(LMIDTAYL/UTLGUIDD) SRCFILE(LMIDTAYL/UTLSRC) SRCMBR(UTLGUIDD) CMS2361 30 *FUNCTN UTLGUIDD created, but not in accord with SQL extended attribute. Hello,How does Legasuite treating "wait-animation" icon, it feels somewhat inconsistence, especially when popup occurs. Sometimes I can be waiting for more than 10 seconds for the next screen to come up, but wait-animation icon doesn't show up.  is wait-animation feature configurable?ThanksPeter------------------------------Peter ChengSoftware EngineerAmber Road IncParsippany NJ US------------------------------

Amongst the important updates in v10.1.2 (Rocket MX Web, Rocket MX Desktop edition) is the upgrade of OpenSSL to version 3.0.0. Several encryption methods available previously have been discontinued due to security threats. See also the "Legacy Algorithms" as announced by the OpenSSL project. The video below demonstrates how to improve your security posture as a result of this update. We highly recommend upgrading Rocket MX to v.10.1.2 to leverage both performance and security enhancements.  ------------------------------Roger van ValenSenior manager, software engineeringRocket SoftwareDordrecht, The Netherlands------------------------------

The shop where I now have the pleasure to work has not used copy source that I can see.  When I have copy source, what is the best object type to use? I assume *SRCMBR  with ILE as the attribute.  ------------------------------David TaylorSenior DeveloperRange Resources CorporationFort Worth TX US------------------------------

ALM - Rocket Aldon Lifecycle Management (LMi or LMe) performs two distinct steps.PROMOTEMoves objects within the ALM  from one environment to the next within the ALM database without affecting the outside world.. e.g. from Quality-check to InventoryDEPLOYCopy objects (Extract) from an environment to Install in a library or path that are not directly managed by the ALM (i.e the outside world that is external to ALM). Often these copies are installed on a REMOTE server. e.g.Deploy to the Quality-check approval server or the Production server. Seamless configurationYour ALM could be configured to seamlessly trigger Deployment following a successful Promote:LMe:LMe Client > Setup (Menu Item) > Release Configuration > Expand your Group/Application/Release > select Environments > Right-Click the Environment to Deploy from > Properties > Options (tab) > Select your Deployment ProfileLMi:Main Menu > 13. I recently received a question regarding IFS replication for some paths that contain millions of IFS objects.  What are the selection considerations for large IFS replication groups that may contain millions of IFS objects?  Do you use 'journal=*NONE' in your selection or journaled IFS replication pointing to the default BSF journal in the group?  If the objects are jpg images or docs that never change once they are created, like pdfs, what is the best practice for these? The engineer asking the question is correct that the two methods of IFS (near real time) replication with iCluster are journaled and non-journaled replication.  The other method is using a periodic snapshot replication using a *RFSH replication group type.  (not usually the best choice for millions of objects but should be considered and eliminated if it is not applicable)  For IFS objects that are created, stored and do not change, non-journaled IFS object selection can be a good choice.  On occasion I have heard of

After reviewing a few recent posts regarding our Plugin for Eclipse and Rational, it seems that there are a few useful 'setup' things that we might bring in to the light. While our shipped Help does contain decent info on what we are capable of (Help > Help Contents > 'Rocket Aldon Lifecycle Manager Eclipse Plug-ins User Guide'), I do think we could use more FAQ or 'How-to' type stuff to make it more useful and shorten the learning curve. To that end, over the next several weeks, will be exposing a few tips for the Eclipse plugin for Lifecycle Manager that might help you in your daily tasks.Starting with...Connection options - Good for LMe (also used in LSWB / MX with LMe Plugin):1 - I usually use and recommend the option to display IDE Project names for the connection by Group for Add to Workspace (especially if you have many/hundreds of IDE Projects!). 2- A quick note that the LMe 'server' in the definition should match the configuration in aldcs.conf for LMe client (default is

Creating a series of user friendly web pages across your green screen application is straightforward in LegaSuite Web.  However, customers are increasingly asking for more advanced features such as single views of data.  In this video I show you how to use the workflow recorder in LegaSuite Web to quickly and easily aggregate data from multiple screens with no additional programming required. ------------------------------Andrew SimpsonRocket Software------------------------------

In iCluster main menu, the option 8. Work with the Full Cluster Status Monitor (iCluster command: WRKCSMON) is a very useful feature to help you understand the replication status. On an active node, you can use it to display the Full Cluster Status Monitor to view replication status, latency, and replication throughput of all replication groups in the cluster or for a specific named group.   The following are some useful pieces of information may help you when you are performing iCluster monitoring:   1. When you see there is high source latency but low apply latency, and the journal entries keep moving, this can be caused by: heavy transactions generated by application jobs journal scrape jobs leak of system resource on primary node to handle the transaction workload. communication bandwidth is not enough Staging store size may need to increase 2.
