Hello, sorry if this has been covered already but I have a situation where there are 2 cobol programs (object type *PGM, as in non-ile), that need to stay in sync, code wise.What I mean is as follows...Program A - get new logic added to it quite frequently.  Program B needs much of the same code but the developers many times forget about Program B.Program A gets changed, tested, promoted.  Program B is forgotten.Is there a way to either...a.) setup some kind of dependency or conflict is created, so when Program A is promoted from Dev to QA , the promotion will fail if Program B does not come along with it.b.) we can create a user program that will pop up  a message when we Promote program A that reminds the developers to check if Program B needs the new code.Any help would be appreciated.ps - ive tried making on dependent on the other but that didnt stop any check outs or promotions.

We all know that LMi is fantastic at being able to be configured to manage just about every situation you would require for your applications, right? At this point, you say, "Wait, Joe, what do you mean, just about??".  I'm so glad you asked! :)For those super-unique situations where you want to program LMi to do something special for you, we've created muliple "exit points" in our standard workflow. You can set up LMi to call your program automatically at any of these exit points to greatly increase the level of automation and decrease the manual effort required to fully accomplish your desired change. There are five exit points: ADD (adding a brand new object), DLT (deleting an object), CHK (checking out an object), PRM (promoting an object) and when you install an object on your target via Deployment. The first four are accessed via STRLMI, 11: Setup, then 13: User Exits. There is a lot of F1 help text here, and it is also covered in "User Exits" section in the LM(i) Setup and Admin

Hi All,I am facing an error while trying to extract a deployment set using option 13 from the "Work with Deployment Sets" menu.Below is the sequence of steps I am following:STRACMS -> 6. Deployment menu -> 1. Work with deployment sets -> F6 to add a deployment set.From this screen, I select the three objects below:CLSTKFN  *FUNCTN     SQL CLSTKR    *MODULE      RPGLE CLSTKR    *SRVPGM       RPGLEHere CLSTKFN is an SQL user defined function that uses the CLSTKR service program.Then I set the auto-start step to 1 which submits a job Job 982648/ALDONCMS/ACMSATOJOB. This job completes without issues.But the status of the deployment set remains EXF which means failed. Though the ACMSATOJOB completes without errors, it submits another job Job 981824/ALDONCMS/ACMSEXTDVR which fails with end code 20.Below are the messages in the spool file:It says "Not authorized to function CLSTKFN in PAVT_TESTP". Hi there,When I map/load a new application into LMi, I am used to use the combination of File Source (*OBJ and *SEARCH) and timestamp to find object pairing to the source. Until I got an experience, when I mapped/loaded an application where they used the same object name for different object type, for example OBJA with *PGM and *FILE, then I found many CMS2415 error (saying that the source member is used by an object) in my spoolfiles. And many objects are mapped wrongly. Like *PGM is mapped to source of PF and *FILE is mapped to source of RPGLE.If I analyze, I find that:1. LMi won't consider source member type when it looks for the source. As long the object name = source member name, then LMi will pair them.2. When LMi searchs the source for the second object name and it find the source is already paired by the first object name, then it will stop searching. The second source won't be paired.Because of this I have to fixed hundreds of unique objects name manually, times with object t

I am still learning about the Joys of Aldon.  I think I finally see some of the benefits for the library groups.  I did not at the beginning of the current project.  I have some files assigned to 1/1 instead of 1/7.  I do not see a way to correct this.  What am I missing?
