In iCluster Web 9.4.1, Sync Check Scheduler brought scheduled sync checks into the browser for the first time. Administrators could view schedules, activate or deactivate them, delete them, apply bulk actions, filter by timeframe, and customize columns.
In iCluster Web 9.5.0, that foundation is extended into full lifecycle management: schedules can now be created, reviewed in detail, edited, run on demand, and tied directly to results—without leaving the scheduler workflow.
Completing the Picture
Scheduled sync checks remain an iCluster engine capability, and the engine continues to execute them as before. What changes in 9.5.0 is browser reach.
From the same Schedule Sync Check area, administrators can now:
- schedule new sync checks,
- open full schedule details,
- edit schedule settings,
- submit a one-off sync check run,
- and open sync check results directly.
Navigation Path
Open: Management → Monitor → Sync Check → Schedule Sync Check
From there, the key entry points are:
- Schedule new sync check (toolbar) for creation
- Row Actions menu for:
- View SC entry
- Submit sync check
- Display SC result
- Delete
1. Schedule a New Sync Check
Select Schedule new sync check to open a dedicated scheduling form.
Core settings include:
- sync check type (*FULL, *FILEATTR, *OBJATTR, *CHECKSUM, *CHKOBSLETE)
- output mode (*ALL, *NONE, *MISMATCH)
- initial status (*ACTIVE, *INACTIVE)
- lock-files behavior
- submit-job behavior
- schedule date/time
- frequency (*HALFHR, *HOURLY, *TWOHRS, *WEEKLY, *MONTHLY, *ONCE)
- day-of-week selection
- one or more replication groups
Multi-group scheduling
Group name and Day of week support multi-select.
This allows a single schedule definition to be applied across multiple groups at once.
When outcomes are mixed, success and failure are reported per group with reason text, so partial completion is explicit.
Advanced parameters when needed
Advanced options are available behind Show advanced parameters and include settings such as refresh type, send-to destination, auto-repair, summary email, out-of-sync activation controls, maximum activation limits, on-change duration, and check-type-specific behavior.
Form guardrails
Validation is enforced before save:
- required fields must be complete,
- date/time cannot be in the past,
- time format must be valid,
- numeric limits are range-checked.
Save remains disabled until the form is valid, and unsaved-navigation prompting protects in-progress entries.
2. View a Scheduled Entry
From a row, choose View SC entry.
This opens a read-only schedule view with full configuration plus execution context, including:
- schedule entry ID
- group
- sync check type
- last run
- duration
- out-of-sync count
- next run
This view is for precise confirmation of schedule behavior without edit risk.
3. Edit an Existing Schedule
From the view page, select Edit Sync Check.
The page switches into edit mode while keeping identity context visible (entry ID, group, schedule type). Editable fields include standard and advanced scheduling parameters.
Validation rules match creation.
If needed, Back to View exits edit mode and restores saved values.
On save, iCluster Web confirms the update, re-reads the schedule, and returns to view with refreshed values.
4. Submit a Sync Check on Demand
From a schedule row, choose Submit sync check to run validation immediately for that schedule’s group.
This is a one-off execution and does not modify the stored schedule cadence, next run, or status.
5. Display Sync Check Results
Choose Display SC result to open Reports with the schedule’s group preselected and results loaded.
This closes the operational loop directly from schedule to execution outcome.
Timing Behavior
All scheduler times (including last run, next run, and “past-time” validation) are based on the metadata owner node’s system time, not the browser machine clock.
For teams working across time zones, this is the source of truth for execution timing.
Who Can Do What
Sync Check Scheduler is available to superuser accounts as a complete feature set, including schedule list visibility and actions.
For non-superuser accounts, the scheduler entry is not shown in the Monitor Sync Check menu.
End-to-End Capability in One Place
With 9.4.1 and 9.5.0 combined, administrators can now:
- review all scheduled sync checks,
- create schedules across multiple groups,
- inspect full schedule configuration,
- edit schedules with validation,
- activate/deactivate/delete schedules (including bulk operations),
- filter by timeframe and run context,
- customize table columns,
- submit sync checks on demand,
- and open results directly from schedules.
Bottom Line
Sync checks remain a core iCluster validation mechanism, with engine behavior unchanged.
What iCluster Web 9.5.0 adds is full browser lifecycle management: schedules can now be created, reviewed, updated, executed on demand, and analyzed from one connected workflow.
For administrators, that means fewer context switches and faster validation from schedule definition to result interpretation.
