Problem:
The terminal emulator supplied with CICS Option (dfht3270.exe or dfht327g.exe) has to connect to a region that runs on a remote MFE CICS. For example, if an active CICS region is running on a machine named SERV1. Can this region be accessed by the terminal emulator running on another machine ?
Resolution:
A terminal requires a netname upon connection, something that MFE's 3270 emulator is able to accept. As a prerequisite in the SIT, the TCP/IP communication support must be enabled. This will become the specific port to listen. The embedded emulator must be started from a command line:
dfht3270 /rREGNAME /ua /cccitc32 /xmachine_name:port_num /nB360
This allows 3270 to connect to a CICS region running on another PC with B360 as the netname.
