When a job was submitted for class B it stayed in the input queue and kept going on hold.

Problem:

When a job was submitted for class B it stayed in the input queue and did not become active. We have created initab initiator for AB and the job card says class=B  but the job keeps going on hold. What is happening?

Resolution:

This happened because there was no initiator started for class B therefore the job never became active. If you look at the console.log notes you will see that there were no initiators started. Ensure that there is a line CASBJ0023I Batch Initator INITAB: classes)  "AB"....... Then, select the "edit" button of the server and see if the intiators are listed there. Look on the MTO tab, then the JES tab and there will be an initiator tab present. If there are no initiators, create it again and make sure you hit the "apply" button at the bottom for this to take.
