After uninstalling Hotfix 6, 7 or 8 for Enterprise Server 2.2.2 for VS2012, the same, or a later hot fix does not install.

Problem:

After uninstalling a Hotfix and then installing it again, it appears that the hotfix has installed but it has not.

The installation process completes very quickly and the EDVER reports the previous version is installed.

This will affect the following 2.2.2 products:

 

Enterprise Developer for VS2012

Visual Cobol for VS2012

Cobol Server for VS2012

Enterprise Server for VS2012

Enterprise Test Server for VS2012

Resolution:

If HF6, HF7 or HF8 has been reinstalled and the product files have not been updated, 2 steps are needed to resolve the problem:

 

1.       Run the following command lines:

 

ED VS 2012

                                                              

i.       >msiexec /qb /i {3446A9DF-F86D-4D19-ABF5-06FE9764A49A} ADDLOCAL=ALL

                                                  

ii.      >msiexec /qb /i {9CD7A9F3-B2B7-4AD1-A8A9-02AEF5E4CB6F} ADDLOCAL=ALL

 

VC VS 2012

                                                              

i.       >msiexec /qb /i {04323DFC-C142-4B72-A71F-94F0534A8EDF} ADDLOCAL=ALL

                                                            

ii.      >msiexec /qb /i {2B489DD0-121F-4EC9-8D90-0CDA0FCB475C} ADDLOCAL=ALL

 

CS 2012 R2

                                                       

i.       >msiexec /qb /i {207D8256-842E-4F8E-9692-40E971D68463} ADDLOCAL=ALL

                                                            

ii.      >msiexec /qb /i {755485EF-3109-4D51-870A-1ABBF21D38EB} ADDLOCAL=ALL

 

ES 2012

2.       Repair the product from Programs and Features (Uninstall/Change -> Repair)

 

NOTE: The installer may request a reboot.
