CASSI9012E JCL support failed to start. Error returned from casspool, RC=0020

Problem:

A region has been configured for JCL but when the region is started, JES is not seen as an option under

Resources on the ESMAC page. Also, the following appears in the console log file for the region:


151209 09591808       8544 JCLTEST  JES000052E Job Entry Subsystem (JES) initialization failed. 

Environment improperly configured. 09:59:18
151209 09591828       8544 JCLTEST  CASSI9012E JCL support failed to start. Error returned from casspool,

RC=0020 09:59:18


Please check for the following:


Is catalog.dat missing in the path to the catalog file on the JES configuration page, as in this example?

   
    C:\\Users\\User\\ES\\JCLTEST\\catalog\\


If so -

Resolution:

Ensure that "catalog.dat" is included in the path to the catalog file under "System Catalog" on the

configuration page for JES for the region, like in this example:


    C:\\Users\\User\\ES\\JCLTEST\\catalog\\catalog.dat


Once that is done and the region is restarted, JES will be seen on the JES configuration page, and this

will be seen in the console log:

151209 10111945       8508 JCLTEST  JES000051I Job Entry Subsystem (JES) services initialized
