Dennis Vorhees has submitted the following suggested feature:
When I create a chart which groups by range, the values of number of ranges (5) and number of instances (10) seems to be hard-wired. Normally, I can drill into a range, and if there are more than 10 objects, I'll see the same chart with the selected ranged broken down into 5 sub-ranges. Eventually, where a selected range has 10 or fewer objects, the next selection will display all the instances with their values.
I came across an instance where there are more than 10 instances in a range. In fact, all instances may have the same value. I can drill down on the ranges to a point, but because there are more than 10 objects, I can never drill down to see the specific instances.
I don't think we have to worry about this behavior with most metrics like cyclomatic complexity, but those with lower values may encounter this behavior (like function points).
