Problem:
We are facing an issue in the BMS map when moving from Server Enterprise Edition 6.0 to ES 2.2, the default has changed
Going back and looking now at the maps, we are not seeing the color and highlight attributes the way they were.
Is there was way to change the default behavior to use extended attributes? What is the best way to get those to display properly?
Resolution:
First, Issue CINQ and see if it displayed EXTDS(.) and COLOR(.) instead of EXTDS(Y) and COLOR(Y)?
And check the terminal definition - TermType in ESMAC and verify if the COLOR & EXTDS is enabled.
If EXTDS & COLOR is not enabled, then enable the below environment variable and restart the region.
ES_TN3270_MODEL_LOG=Y
Enabling this variable will writes the TN3270 emulator's model name to a temporary
storage queue named TN32MODL that can be viewed using the CEBR transaction.
Then issue CEBR TN32MODL to see what model name you are using.
Then check the TermType T-Type for that model is added to the startup list.
If you do not see one and to use your own, copy T-type for that model to your group and add that group to the startup list.
Then use the following in ESMAC to create a new Termtype T-type:
1. Copy the correct Termtype definitions from DFHTERM to group TESTTERM
2. Update TERMTYPE to have a highlight, color, extended DS checked.
Then make sure that your group is listed in the startup list after the DFH* group to get those extended attributes to display properly.
