We have a CICS application hat we intend to use without modifications with a CICS web service.  In the DFHCOMMAREA there are COMP and COMP-3 fields,  when generating the WSDL they are defined as short but this causes an Execution error : file 'CAS0CWSU'
error code: 114, pc=0, call=1, seg=0
114 Attempt to access item beyond bounds of memory (Signal 11) .  Are these data types supported and if yes how to describe them?  Thanks

Hi Pat,

See this documentation page: www.microfocus.com/.../GUID-71149807-6FF3-4250-A783-1F1BB9405B3D.html
The first sentence states "CWS does not support CICS applications that use both COMP and COMP-5 items.". Further down it also refers to using the ES_CWS_WSBIND_COMP environment variable, but I am completely certain if that is helpful/relevant in your specific case yet.

If the above does not help then I recommend you to consider the following:
-If not on on the latest product version or Patch Update consider installing that to see if that helps avoid the problem.
-If the problem is still seen then open a support case where we can provide further assistance, please include a simplified test case program (required source files, directives used, compile command, recreate instructions), that will help speed up the investigation.

Regards,
Kim

Hi Kim,

I added this ES_CWS_WSBIND_COMP setting in the environment variables and yes it fixes the problem.  Thanks for your answer.
