I am very new to Enterprise Developer. In fact, I'm just trying to work through the MF Tutorial on JCL. I teach a class on JCL and hope to be able to use this software with students. So here is the deal
I open Server Explorer. I choose Local Host but when I try to right click I get nothing. This past summer when I was messing with the software I was able to create 3 servers and I see all three of them. But I am now unable to create any servers. Any ideas?
#EnterpriseDeveloperYou say "this past summer ... I was able to create 3 servers". Are you still using the same installation of Enterprise Developer as you were back then? Has any other related software been installed or removed?
You're using Enterprise Developer for Visual Studio, correct? What version of the product do you have installed?
Is the Micro Focus Directory Server service running?
You're right-clicking on "localhost" under "Micro Focus Servers"?

#EnterpriseDeveloperMichael, I was able to get a server going. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong but finally was able to get through the tutorial. I am running 2.1 ED for Visual Studio. The directions I was following in the tutorial did not match my screens. When I open the Admin panel I can add a server there. I think I was looking at v 2.2 ED directions online but running the 2.1 ED. But then again I could be mistaken. It's very confusing.
In any case, i've solved my own problem...well this problem.
