Problem:

We have a DBD that contains a copybook, but it fails a DBDGEN in

Mainframe Express. The Workgroup is adding a DBD Copybook folder and is looking for an extension of .DBD. Our copybook uses the same name as the DBD but

with a .CPY extension. We cannot get the DBD to compile. What can be done?

Resolution:

  There is a DBDGEN directive, COPYEXT, which can be used. In this case, use

COPYEXT(CPY) as an Additional Directive for the DBD Build Settings. This can

be passed either for the individual DBD by right-clicking and selecting 'Build Settings

for <name>.DBD' or by setting it globally for the MFE project via Project>Build

Settings for Project>DBD tab, Additional Directives box.

Also, one can add a new extension under Project>Project Settings>General tab>

Extensions tab along the right side of the window. Add an extension of CPY for

DBD Copybook.
