Problem:

When a COBOL program is opened in Tech, the References are displayed correctly the first time. After some dynamic links are confirmed only they become available, and the other References seem to be lost.

Resolution:

This may happen when some of the Product options regarding references are not aligned: Deep Relation Analysis in Navigator’s options and GenerateAttrRelations property for the COBOL programs.

Use Deep Relation Analysis in Navigator’s Display Options should only be checked if the GenerateAttrRelations option for the programs in the relevant language (e.g. COBOL) is set to LOAD.

If Use Deep Relation Analysis is checked in Navigator, then the product will try to show the detailed reference information, which is only loaded if the analysis option GenerateAttrRelations is set to LOAD.

In order to visualize the references in Tech correctly, uncheck Use Deep Relation Analysis in Navigator.

If you would like to load the detailed information about the references, then you need to set GenerateAttrRelations to LOAD in Configuration Manager -> Environment Settings -> Work with Environment Properties form.

After making this change, you will also need to re-analyze the programs involved so that the detailed information becomes available.
