Eclipse Options
There a quite a number of options that can be changed within Eclipse. We will just look briefly at a few of them. You may want to explore others in your own time:
1. From the Eclipse main menu select Window, Preferences
2. Expand the Micro Focus COBOL line and expand Editor and COBOL Syntax Coloring
3. Individual Syntax types can be colored in any color of your choice, such as unused Items might be identified as red in bold and striked. Alternately you can choose the coloring to be the same as Visual Studio or the same as Micro Focus Traditional by selecting the Color Scheme.
4. On the Folding option, you can choose various sections of your code to be folded when the program is opened.
5. Do not change any Typing options at this time, we will look later at them.
6. There are many other changes you can make here, possibilities are endless! We will get to other exciting funcitonalities as we proceed with getting to know more about how to get the most from Enterprise Developer and Eclipse.
Project Properties
Project Properties defines option settings that can be customized to the needs of your project and environment, such as build and runtime configurations and other project settings. However if you have only activated Enteprise Developer Personal Edition, accessing the project properties will not be available. We will cover the project properties later on, when appropriate.
