Problem:

When attempting to start the Enterprise Server, it initially shows that it is starting but then terminates.

The console log shows a problem with the Communications Server:

Verify your configuration, especially server endpoint specification

Resolution:

Add the machine's IP address to the firewall's "allowed" or "trusted" list. 

Note that in addition arrangements may need to be made to cater for the situation where the machine can receive a different IP address in the future (e.g. after a DHCP lease has expired).
