This article explains error 114: Invalid password for revocation when attempting to revoke a license in Studio Enterprise Edition 6.0.

Problem:

When attempting to revoke a license in Studio Enterprise Edition 6.0 the following error message is returned:

"Unable to revoke all of your licenses. Revoke failed for COBOLManagedCompiler: Error[114]: Invalid password for revocation. Please contact Micro Focus SupportLine".

This error occurs only if you have previously installed the Eclipse AddPack for Net Express 5.1 and have fully licensed it.

Resolution:

The problem is caused by the presence of the file sntlpassword.dat which can be found in this directory:

C:\\Program Files\\Common Files\\SafeNet Sentinel\\Sentinel RMS License Manager\\WinNT\\sntlpassword.dat

Simply rename it to something like sntlpassword1.dat and then install the new sntlpassword.dat file which is attached to this Knowledge Base article.

Note: See attached Word document for screenshot of error message.
