Problem:
This article applies to Enterprise Server 2.0 on Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7 systems.
The Fileshare Service can be started manually, but when it is set to start automatically upon reboot, it does not happen. It can be started manually after reboot with no problems and no errors. Checking the system's Event Viewer, this is seen:
A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the Micro Focus Fileshare Service: FSSRV service to connect.
The Micro Focus Fileshare Service: FSSRV service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
What can be done to have the Fileshare service start automatically upon reboot?
Resolution:
On Windows, right-click on the Task Bar located at the bottom of the Desktop. Select "Start Task Manager". Select the Services tab. then double-click the Services button at the lower-right-hand corner. A list of the services for the system will open up. Search for the Micro Focus Fileshare Service. Once found, right-click on it and open up Properties. Open up Properties, then configure the service startup options for Automatic (Delayed).
