Problem

As IMS has a number of different call interfaces, including EXEC IMS, and direct calls to the IMS routines, which languages will EA scan when IMS Analysis is performed in Enterprise Analyzer?

Resolution

As stated, IMS has a call level interface, so IMS can be called from Cobol, C/C , Java, Assembler and PL/I. But when IMS Analysis is performed in Enterprise Analyzer (EA) only specific languages are recognised by EA as using IMS. Those languages are:

• Cobol
• JCL
• PL/I

As stated, the following languages can call IMS, but not IMS analysis is performed against the following languages:

• Assembler
• Natural
• C/C
• Java
• VB
