Problem:

How can a DCLGEN be generated from UDB when in Mainframe Express

Resolution:

To use IBM UDB with Mainframe Express, the project  / product must be configured to use UDB and  not XDB.

Start> All Programs> Mainframe Express > Configuration > Database.

When the dialogue is displayed, change the option from XDB to IBM DB2 for Windows, and click OK

Now open Mainframe Express and open the  project.

From the TOOLS menu, select HCO, then select DCLGEN.

This will open the GENERATE COPYBOOK TOOL.

This will allow the generation of  the DCLGEN required..
