Enterprise Developer Team Edition can be trialed by downloading the electronic version from http://online.microfocus.com/enterprise-Developer-PE. You will need to register with a valid email address, download the install, and start the installation process. Once installed:

1. The first thing to do is to activate EDPE. You will be prompted once you start the IDE. Make sure you use the same email address as used when registering for download.
2. Once activated, you will receive a series of emails that will drive you through discovering the many features available in EDPE, if you have not already been through.
   1. The emails will help you get familiar using the smart editor features with the IDE of your choice and prepare for a better trial experience with EDTE.

Activating EDTE is simple and easy. There are many ways you can start the activation process, and here is an example:

1. Start the IDE, in the Toolbar menu, click on the debug feature
2. This will bring up the Micro Focus Enterprise Developer Product Licensing
3. Choose “Automatic” if you have access to the internet or “Manual” if not, and follow the steps for manual activation
4. You will receive a series of emails to help you get familiar with the advanced features of EDTE such as debugging and execution. Additionally you can access the community site to have access to valuable information, including training, product documentation, FAQs and the opportunity to share your thoughts with the community.
