Problem:

How to change location of catalog.dat file and change where data files are being placed?

Mainframe Express  3.0 installed on the C:\\ drive.

Project/files/pgms have been check-out to D:\\MFUSER\\Projects.

The Catalog.dat file is contained in the Project root folder on D:\\MFUSER\\Projects..

When  run a job that catalogues a new file, it places it on the C:\\ drive !

What has to be done to have the new file catalog to where the Catalog.dat is or someplace on the D:\\ drive ?

1) How to change the location of the catalog.dat file?

     In the Mainframe Express 3.0 Project View have a Project open.

     Click on Project ->Project Settings.

     Click on the Catalog tab at the top

     Click on the General tab on the right

     Change the location of catalog.dat in

         Catalog location

          System catalog:

2) How to change where data files are being placed?

    In the Mainframe Express 3.0, have a Project open.

    Click on Workgroup tab at bottom left.

    Expand Data Libraries.

    Expand Catalog Data.

    Hightlight folder under Catalog Data that needs data file location changed.

    Right-mouse click on the folder and click on Update folder.
