Problem:

What is needed to export IMS Transaction definitions from Studio 6.0 ?

Resolution:

Transaction definitions can be exported by starting a Net Express or Enterprise Developer command prompt.

Either

• change to the directory where the IMSGEN2.DAT directory resides or
• set ES_IMSLIB= to point to where the definitions file (IMSGEN2.DAT) can be located.

Enter mfims TRANEXP

This will create

• a text file named TRANEXP.TXT containing transaction codes in a format that can be used to re-import using the second half of the stage 1 input feature and,
• a file called TRANEXP.LST which contains a summary of the number of transactions unloaded.

To reimport the transactions enter mfims STG1IM TRANEXP.TXT
