Problem:

Many users need to send MFA started task information to assist in determining MFA mainframe problems.  Below are instructions on how to do this.

Resolution:

From the ISPF Primary Opting menu, go to S.DA

Open the MFA task you want to send to print by selecting with a S to open.  This will show you the JES2 Job Log

Select Print at the top of the SDSF screen and hit Enter

Select Option 2 - Print Open Data Set

Enter the following:

Dataset Name = whatever you want to call it

Disposition = NEW

Space Units = TRKS

Primary quantity = 5

Secondary quantity = 5

Record Format = FB

Record Length = 133

Press enter

This takes you back to the Job Log

In Command Input type

PRINT

Press enter and at the top right you can see the # of lines printed

In Command Input type

PRINT CLOSE

Press enter and you'll get a message at the top right that says print closed.

You can then have the user send you the dataset name they created which will display the task information by using Drag & Drop to bring down to their PC and email to the support rep.
