IMS trace points are lost after restarting the Server.

Problem:

IMS trace points are lost after restarting the Server. Why?

Resolution:

The trace points initially shown are those that have been set by the SIT. You can change individual trace points by checking the check box next to each trace point, or you can use all to change all the settings at once. This overrides the trace points set by the SIT. Any changes you make are effective immediately you click Apply. The changes are lost, however, the next time the server is initialized. This is expected behavior and is designed to be used dynamically so the user does not need to restart the server when collecting additional diagnostic information.

To change the default trace points permanently in the SIT:

  1. With the Server started, click on the "Details" button and then click on ESMAC (ES Monitor and Control).

  2. In the left hand pane select "by Group" in the Resources pull-down menu.

  3. Click on the “SIT” button.

  4. Click on the “Details” button to the left of the SIT you wish to configure.

You should see the Trace Points listed half way down the screen. You can enable/disable the appropriate checkboxes and click Apply to save the changes.

Restart the Server for the changes to take effect.
